Indie Cambridge champions independent businesses across the city, connecting a growing network of retailers, cafés, makers and creative businesses.
One of the organisation's most recognisable publications is The Indie Magazine, a printed magazine that celebrates local independent businesses through stories, interviews and features. Langham Press has worked alongside Indie Cambridge to produce the magazine, while also supporting a range of additional print projects throughout the year.

The Brief
The magazine needed to feel approachable, thoughtfully produced and consistent from one edition to the next.
Alongside the magazine itself, Indie Cambridge also required occasional short-run print for events, partnerships and promotional campaigns, with the flexibility to respond to opportunities as they arose.
Every project needed to balance quality, timescales and budget while reflecting the values of the independent businesses featured throughout the publication.

Working Together
Rather than treating each edition as a separate print job, we've developed an ongoing working relationship with the Indie Cambridge team.
Every issue begins with a conversation around paper choices, finishes, production schedules and any changes to format or pagination. This collaborative approach helps ensure each magazine feels familiar while allowing room for new ideas as the publication continues to evolve.
Alongside the magazine, we're also able to support smaller print runs and shorter lead times, helping Indie Cambridge produce promotional material for events and community initiatives throughout the year.

Bringing the Magazine to Print

Paper stocks, colour reproduction and finishing all need to work together so each issue feels recognisably part of the same publication, even as the content changes.
